Project 1 - Distributing Bicycles and School Equipments (2017, Mullaitivu & Killinochchi) The first thing I bought with my savings were bicycles for the kids in Mullaitivu so they could safely travel from home to school and vice versa. I wanted this experience to be memorable. That’s why I decided to hand over the bicycle by myself. The reaction of the kids when they received the bicycle were priceless. They couldn’t believe that they got a brand new bicycle gifted. It took them a moment to process their emotions. Seeing them happy made me happy. But this wasn’t enough. I wanted to do more. To fullfill that wish I went to the Maha Vithyalayam school in Killinochchi. My thought was to give the kids something that had an actual use for them at school. The two things that instantly striked my mind were schoolbooks and schoolbags. Without thinking twice I organised both the items and distributed it to them at the school.
